Rob Cloutier, owner of Digital History Studios has been a 3D cinematic animator and compositor for the past 25+ years, 12 of which had been in the computer gaming field.  He has worked on several high profile games such as Sid Meier's Civilization IV, Sid Meier's Pirates, Sid Meier's Railroads, Rise of Nations and many other history-oriented titles.  He has taught classes on 3D animation, published articles in international trade-oriented periodicals, and recently served as an Adjunct Professor at University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus (UMBC), teaching a course on Virtual Reality.  His clients have included documentary producers, historic preservation groups, online museums, government agencies such as NASA, USPS and Department of Defense, along with educational organizations such as Discovery Communications, the Smithsonian Institution and the Newseum in Washington DC.  Rob recently helped produce the Berlin Wall Virtual Reality Experience for the Newseum, creating the 3D assets for the project.  He stresses historical accuracy in his projects along with a cinematic attention to detail, and his passion for history also finds him giving tours to local Civil War battlefields and other historic sites.  Rob has also been active in the VR community organizing, hosting and presenting on over two dozen VR panel discussions for various groups in DC, Boston and Puerto Rico, is an Organizer for the DCVR Meetup Group in Washington, DC and served on the Technical Advisory Panel at the Newseum.
