Silvana Quiroz, Director, Editor in Chief, Host and Producer of Zoom Latino, has over 15 years of experience in broadcasting and communications. Born and raised in Bolivia, Silvana began her career at an early age in her native Bolivia and later emigrated to the United States where she worked for Telemundo and Univision.


In 2004, Silvana worked as a reporter for Telemundo local news. Later on, she joined the morning team of WILC 900. In 2011, she was hired as a reporter for the local news at Univision where she was promoted to the anchor of the 11:00PM newscast. Silvana created, produced and anchored the first Univision morning show in Spanish for the DMW area. In 2016, she became the National Political Correspondent and Producer of the show “Perspectiva Nacional”.


Today, Silvana directs her own news organization, Zoom Latino, in the Washington DC area. In 2018, Zoom Latino became the first Spanish digital platform in the Washington DC area to win an Emmy Award for the show “Silvana Quiroz Presenta” on Telemundo. This show highlighted a special broadcast about Puerto Rico after hurricane Maria.


A mother of two, Silvana is currently working on “Dreamer Mom”, a documentary that tells the story of immigrant mothers in the United States, including her own.
